Teatro Olimpico, punto bar nei ridotti della galleria

Location Rome, Italy

Year 2010-2012

Description The project tries to reinterpret the architecture of the teatro olimpico adapting its geometry and materials. The counter, in marmot badiglio, invades the cylindrical space of the bar revealing or conceiling it in the walls according to the style of marquetry. The absence of moulding and the uniformity of the upholstery are typical of the rationalist style in which the teatro was built. On the other hand, the dissolution of the back wall follows a decisively contemporary style. A scene from the play “Bothanica” by Moses Pendleton is printed on the wallpaper, while an “Atollo” lamp by Vico Magistretti serves as a linkage on the tip of the counter giving the room a domestic feeling distant from the typical idea of bar.
